"I've seen fire and I've seen rain.
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
I've seen rainy days when I could not find a friend,
But I always thought that I'd see you again . . . " (James Taylor)

Friday (the 13th) AKA Pita

That song (above) stuck in my head the day my Mom died, and even creeping senility can't dislodge it.

But I still can find something every day to be gleefully thankful for . . .

My daughter, my best friend and cosmic twin.

Jennie, my other best friend.

My grandson, Galen who told me that he and I are just alike -- and was happy about that even at 23!

My granddaughter, Jackie who is pretty, hard-working and great fun!

My great-grandson Eli who's almost three and wants to be a professional baseball player and already understands the game.

My husband, of 20 years on, 20 years off, nearly 11 years on and holding, who can't fathom what I'm about, but loves me anyway.

My cat, called Friday, because she arrived on Friday the 13th in June of 2008 when she was six weeks old, and should have been called Pita (a vulgar anagram) but she's cute.

Today: I am gleeful about Barack Obama's choice of Joe Biden as his vice-presidential running mate!
